Wasco County Historical Society is seeking contributed photos and event information for the 2013 Wasco County calendar project.
The calendar will feature current and historic photos of landmarks and events in Wasco County. Each month will feature a different Wasco County community. The 11 featured communities include: Mosier, The Dalles, Celilo Village, Dufur, Tygh Valley, Wamic, Pine Hollow, Antelope, Shaniko, Warm Springs and Maupin. January will feature an overview of Wasco County.
Along with scenic and historic photos, each month will mark 2013 community celebrations and historic events that took place in Wasco County.
The calendar will be printed on high-gloss paper, folded size 11" x 8½", open size 11" x 17" with multiple quality photographs each month featuring one of our communities in Wasco County.
Promote tourism to Wasco County
The calendar will be promoted for tourism and to acquaint people with the historic and scenic richness to be found in Wasco County. Your submitted community events for 2013, such as the Wasco County Fair, Fort Dalles Days, Wamic Rendezvous Days, Shaniko Wool Festival, etc. will be marked on the calendar.
Sell Calendars in your Community as a Fundraiser
The Wasco County 2013 Calendar project is a fundraiser for schools, non-profit organizations, and historic museums and groups. You will be able to purchase calendars at wholesale price, sell them with a mark-up and keep the profits to help fund your organization. It's a win-win for everyone.
Submitting Photos and Events
We need a contact person from each of the communities listed above, who will submit community event dates, and act as the information liaison within the community. We rely on everyone to get the word out, and help us gather an awesome selection of historic photos, and modern photos showing historic landmarks and museums.
Copyright
Copyright law in a nutshell is held by the creator of an image, specifically the photographer, for 75 years following his/her death. In the case of some images, the estate of a photographer may continue to hold copyrights. If you submit a photo, please include a hand-written release form signed by the photographer or their heir(s).
Photos featuring recognizable people should be accompanied with a hand-written model release. All electronic photos should be high-resolution. Submit only original, raw camera images that have been unaltered. If you submit a photo on behalf of a third person, it must be accompanied by a hand-written usage release form.

Wasco County Historical Society is a 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to educating people about Wasco County history, and helping to promote and preserve that history. Our mission statement:
